When using Acronis Cyber Cloud, you can register the device using the following command, where account and password are your login credentials

To move devices between tenancies
- Create new tenant
- Delete device from old tenant
- Create backup plan within new tenant
- Register Device > Token
- Select account & Backup plan
- Copy token
Issue following command (In Windows) updating the token.
"C:\Program Files\BackupClient\RegisterAgentTool\register_agent.exe" -a au1-cloud.acronis.com --token 41A8-242B-4756 -o register -t cloud
To update all agents inside Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud
Install Python 3.6 or newer and then install the requests module
python -m pip install requests
Open a command prompt, go to the location where the script is, run the script (make sure 2fa is disabled for this account)
python agent_update_v3.py --username --password THEPASSWORD --hostname HOSTNAME --tenant TENANTID --justreport # Example python agent_update_v3.py --username [email protected] --password THEPASSWORD --hostname au1.acronis.com --tenant 1bc235250-4caa-423a-aa1b-b235252aa0f --justreport
Command Options
-u --username required USERNAME of the authorized account (Partner administrator) -p --password required PASSWORD for the authorized account (Partner administrator) -hn --hostname optional HOSTNAME of the DC where authorized account is located May be omitted if the account is located at Acronis DC -t --tenant optional tenant UID, id of the tenant to be processed (partner/customer/unit) May be omitted, home group of the authorized account will be used as an entry point -jr --justreport optional , no value is passed Information about all installed agents and their version will be collected and stored to CSV report file; no update sequence will be initiated -h --help Manual -d --debug optional , no value is passed
Note: the script will update up to 100 agents at a time, if there are more agents than this it will pause for an hour per 100 agents.
Register an Acronis agent manually
Register an agent manually, optional username and password, modify highlighted values to suite your environment
- -u username
- -p password

register_agent.exe -o register -a https://acronismanagmentserver.domain
Linux
cd /usr/lib/Acronis/RegisterAgentTool/

You can register against multiple storage/tenanets using the following. Get tenant unit ID by going into Settings -> Administrators -> Organisation
register_agent.exe -o register -s asn -a SERVER_IP --tenant TENANT_UNIT_ID
When an agent inside console is overwritten by another agent when registering
This issue is often caused when you take an image or a snapshot of a VM. The IDs inside the registry stay the same, but actually need to change.
- Stop all acronis services
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\ Acronis\ BackupAndRecovery\ Settings\ ManagerManager
- Locate InstanceID
- Edit last digit on value
- Locate MMSCurrentMachineID
- Edit last digit on value
- Restart Acronis services
- Run the following command to register to server
- cd C:\Program Files\Acronis\RegisterAgentTool
- register_agent.exe -o register -a https://dr1.cloud3.co.nz
- Check that server has registered correctly on backup server.
- Run manual backup

To manually run a deduplication
Acronis advised edition gives you the ability to deduplicate backups. This usually happens at 3am on a Sunday. It is possible to manually kick off deduplication session using the following command from the management server.
acrocmd compact vault --name=[location_name] --host=127.0.0.1 --credentials=[User],[password] --service=asn #Example acrocmd compact vault --name=TheLocation --host=111.111.111.111 --credentials=username,password --service=asn
Fix corrupt database
Every now and again the Acronis database can be come corrupt. And things like Deduplication and deleting old backups doesn't work.
